Leadership and management coaching
Practical support to help directors and managers lead their team, manage their own workload, and get better results from the people around them.
Proven with 152 MDs, owners and leaders in engineering, manufacturing, construction, tech and consultancy firms.

Who this is for
This coaching is for directors, managers, and senior leaders who want to get really good at the people side of their role.
Maybe you’ve been promoted and the people side of the role is harder than you expected. Maybe you’ve been managing for years but certain situations still catch you out. Or maybe your MD has suggested coaching because they can see the potential in you and want to invest in you.
Whatever the reason, this is about getting better at the things that really make a difference: how you lead your team, how you handle the more difficult situations, and how you make faster, more effective decisions.
If you’re an MD reading this for your senior team: if you’ve got good people and you want them performing at a higher level, this is a practical way to make that happen.
What we work on
Every engagement is tailored because every person and every business is different. But the themes that come up most include:
- Having difficult conversations that actually land, without damaging the relationship.
- Making decisions without second-guessing or waiting for approval.
- Managing workload and priorities so you’re focused on work that matters.
- Holding your team to account in a way that’s fair, clear, and gets results.
- Pushing back when something isn’t realistic, without creating conflict.
- Stepping up into the full scope of your role, not just the parts that feel comfortable.
How it works
Step 1
We start with a proper conversation
A conversation about your role, what’s going well, what’s getting in the way, and what you want to be better at.
Step 2
Fortnightly one-to-one coaching sessions
We meet fortnightly and work on whatever is live for you. The conversation you need to have this week. The project that’s going off track. The person who isn’t performing. We tackle it together, in real time, not in theory.
Step 3
You apply it straight away
This isn’t a course where you learn something and hope you remember it later. You’re working on real situations as they happen, so the improvement is immediate and practical.
What makes this different
Most leadership training gives you a framework for two days and hopes it sticks. You go back to your desk and within a week you’re doing exactly what you were doing before.
This is different because it’s built around your actual job. We work on the real situations in front of you, not case studies from a textbook. You’re not learning theory. You’re practising doing things differently, with someone alongside you who’s done it before.
That doesn’t mean you miss out on the content. Each fortnightly session includes a short, focused input, and over the programme that adds up to as much as you’d get on a training course, if not more. But it comes in amounts you’ll actually remember, and you put each one into practice before the next session. You also get many of the same practical tools and templates I use with MDs.
The managers I work with typically notice the difference within a few weeks. Not because they’ve learned a model, but because they’ve changed how they handle the situations that used to trip them up.
Results
What people notice after working together:
- Difficult conversations feel less daunting and land better.
- You spend less time firefighting and more time on the work that actually moves things forward.
- You make decisions more quickly and with more confidence.
- Your team starts responding differently because the way you’re leading has changed.
- The people around you notice the difference. Often within weeks.
About Leanne
I’ve spent 27 years working in and around growing businesses.
I’ve worked alongside managers, senior teams, and MDs dealing with exactly the kinds of challenges this coaching addresses.
Over the years I’ve worked with 152 MDs, owners and leaders in engineering, manufacturing, construction, tech and consultancy firms.
What actually matters is that I understand how growing businesses work, because I’ve worked inside them, responsible for getting the best out of their people.
I’ve worked for businesses during periods of rapid growth. One tripled in headcount and grew profit c. seven times. I was responsible for building the people side that supported that growth. Over my career, I’ve restructured teams, redesigned roles, supported acquisitions and business expansions, and conducted over 3,000 interviews. Chartered MCIPD. Masters qualified.
My approach covers goal and expectation setting, accountability and the people side. For the goals, expectations and accountability, I bring very simple systems: clear priorities your team can act on, and a straightforward way of following through on what’s been agreed. No jargon and no complicated names, just a practical way of doing it.
On the people side, I bring a deep understanding of the behavioural and thinking patterns that drive how people operate. It’s what allows me to help you have the right conversation, in the right way, with the right person, rather than taking a one-size-fits-all approach that sounds good but doesn’t change anything.
I do this because I’ve seen capable managers struggle for years when a few specific changes would have made the difference. And when those changes are made, it’s great to see the impact on them and their team.
Frequently Asked Questions
Who is this for?
This coaching is for managers and senior leaders in growing businesses who want to get better at leading their team and handling the situations that don’t come with a manual. It’s also for MDs who want to invest in developing their senior team.
How does it work?
We start with a conversation to understand your role and what would make the biggest difference. Sessions are one-to-one, fortnightly, and built around whatever you’re actually dealing with that week. No group workshops. No generic frameworks. Just practical, focused coaching.
Do I need to have a specific problem to work on?
No. Some people come with a clear challenge. Others know they want to be better at the job but aren’t sure where to start. We work that out together in the first conversation.
How long does it take to see a difference?
Most people notice a difference within a few weeks. Not because they’ve learned a new model, but because they’re handling real situations differently. The coaching works because you’re applying it straight away, not filing it away for later.
Is this like a training course?
No. Training gives you a framework for two days and hopes it sticks. This is one-to-one coaching built around your actual job. We work on the real situations in front of you, not case studies from a textbook. You still get the content: a short input each fortnight, in amounts you’ll remember and put into practice.
Do you work online or face to face?
Mostly online, which works well for fitting sessions around a busy schedule. If you’re local to Bristol or North Somerset and prefer face to face, that works too.
